Shakedown

It is Friday.

We broke camp at dawn this morning.

I have had 37 minutes of sleep, according to my watch.

I think it is being generous.

I'm officially calling last night a shakedown campout.

We learned things.

We tested things.

We discovered things we absolutely need to change before the next one.

But...

We survived.

The kids survived.

The tents survived.

We were cold.

Very cold.

And I'm pretty sure none of us slept nearly as much as we intended.

There are stories.

Of course there are stories.

I'll tell you about them this weekend.

Or Monday.

Once I've had some sleep.

Sometimes the adventure doesn't need to be explained while you're still recovering from it. We went camping. We learned a lot. We came home together. That's enough for tonight. The stories can wait until I've slept somewhere with walls.

Much love.

Stay safe.

Wash your damn hands.

And I will see you, next time.
